Theseus Class - released at BCfiles
« on: March 19, 2008, 04:21:15 PM »
Hey guys,

I want to show you my newest baby, the Theseus Class :D

It is a small ship, a bit bigger than the Nova, and it is my design as a succsessor
for the Nova Class. The ship itself is "relative" low poly, all in all it has fairly exactly 6k
Triangels.

Of course I don't have forgot my other ships, so I want to give you a small overview what has happened
to them:

The textures of the Elysion are nearly done, I had to rebuilt the torpedo tubes, because they were much to small,
now I have to remap it a bit and texture them, and then the textures should be as good as finished :D

I have send the Mustang Class runabout to Fallen Warrior some time ago and he already begun to texture it.

The Acheron is a bit on ice, I want to texture it appropriate and at the moment I'm not exactly sure how to texture it,
so that it looks good

Ok, but now some pics of the Theseus, let me know what you think about :D

Attention, the pics are big!

Man, I love everything about your ships.  The mesh is awesome with a conservative polycount, Big plus here.  The overall design is very starfleetish and flows perfectly with DJ Curtis' work.  Your texturing is great, and you take a lot of time perfecting your projects.

add the cheesy nacelle fins from the first one, the back ends of them nacelles seem to lack something...

Looks like a great and worthy successor to the Nova Class. Any chance for a version without the "cut-in" in the dorsal saucer, much like the Rhode Island is compared to the standard Nova?

Could make 2 ships out of 1 model that way:

- Dual-deflectors: Science Vessel (aka Nova Class replacement)
- Single-deflector: Destroyer (high-speed, high maneuvrability, slightly stronger weapons)

It's an idea anyways :P

hasnt anyone noticed the deflector design.... As said before this is a perfect companion for DJs 25th century ships especially a certain one that shares a similar deflector design

I like this, pays homage to the Curtis line of ships WHILE being individual, something I like, a form of unison with other designs while looking different aswell.

Wow, that's one smooth design.

I love the torpedo tubes and impulse plancements, and I also noticed the "DJ Deflector."

Very nice ship dude, have a cookie.

nice ship. the torpedo tubes seem to large , assume the windows are relativly close to the deck size of the ship.

Looking great!

However, from the side, it looks kind of......stunted. How about shortening the Engineering Hull a little, seeing what it looks like? Just a suggestion ;).
