Working on an Intrepid Retexture
« on: June 02, 2008, 09:34:31 AM »
Hey, I'm working on a retexture for the new Intrepid Class, the JL Studios version:

This video shows it in action, but I realise you can't appreciate the full picture. I will be posting some screenshots soon.
Obviously I don't have permission yet, so therefore I shan't release the work without it. If I acquire no permission, then I will not release this retexture.

well actually, you'll be retexturing LC's (Legacy's) model, so you'll need permission from him to modify this if it's a re-texture.  If it's a texture change or texture edit of the JL version you'll need permission from both JL and LC.

Actually DJ, I made a couple of minor tweaks to the model for our CGI version. Mainly proportional stuff, but also the little thing under the bridge and a mapping tweak on the nacelles, so on both counts CJ would need permission from us and LC.
As to permissions, I certainly don't mind and I can't see Jb minding either, however, from what I understand, LC in no longer allowing permission for his stuff to be modified.

Oh dear, that's a bummer. Well, I assume I can still modify it for home use? You know, if I don't release it or anything.

Course you can! You can do whatever you like for your own personal use.And I could be wrong about what I said. Just have to wait for LC to come online and see this................................

Oh that's good :)
Perhaps my luck may even improve *prays for LC to grant request*

Sorry, but limey is right, i did cut all permissions for new derivative works based on my ships due to some stuff and mainly because Excalibur.
the policy extends to everyone and i would not be fair if i let one person or another to have a different answer, hope you understand.

As for personal use, of course you can do whatever you want with the model, even turn it upside down if you want, as for POTDS and renders, i have no issues with then, just please try to keep credits updated to avoid mistakens like the one on the first post of this thread, that DJ pointed out.

Even if it were a bit modified by JL studios, this is still my intrepid model, with my unwrappers and derivative maps. So, the list of credits is bigger, with a lot of people working on the model, but still starts on me.
