Legacy class- Texturing WIP
« on: August 20, 2008, 12:36:49 PM »
This is the Legacy Class mesh created by kaden.  I started mapping and texturing this ship a few weeks ago, and since school has now started, I have less time to work on it.  So far, I have the top saucer, bridge module, and parts of the engineering hull textured with alpha channels.  I used the high-res blueprints as a template, then I made the textures from scratch. Enjoy these pics! :D

Thanks for the cookies. :D  I almost forgot to note-- the original mesh did not have any phaser arrays modeled in.  I am adding those.

are you going to make the textures look a bit more realistic? at the moment its just looking like the drawings, but very nice so far with the windows and phasers

Well this ship is a combination of the Intrepid, and Sovereign classes.  As I recall, Voyager didn't have that much surface detail.  With the variants I've seen, there wasn't that much detail.

Doesn't mean you can't add some. ;)

I disagree. I think this ship is shaping up perfectly as it is. In fact, one thing I dislike about the Sovereign Class is that it looks TOO detailed in certain areas. Especially on the secondary hull.

Good job Wiley. You deserve a cookie for this one.

it's very true to Kaden's original work.  To me, that's a good thing.

I also agree on the surface detail...but possibly a little more contrast on the aztec would make everyone happy...I can't wait to see this ship completed..its a perfect heavy cruiser style for the late 24th to early 25th century ship...

I meant that if he wanted to, he could.  I personally agree that it looks perfect as is so far.

i think that the large observation windows are just a little to "blue", try desaturating them a little bit. other than that, great work. i have been looking forward to this ship for quite a while
