WIP...
« on: September 16, 2008, 07:19:12 PM »
After 4 and a half years, I'm slowly starting to figure out a couple things when it comes to making models from scratch.  I am still a huge noob at this, but it's something that I can say I built on my own.

The mesh, so far, is how I want it to be.  I just thought I'd show this here since D.net is still undergoing maintenance.

P.S.

Hull and neck meshes total about 2800 polys.

Looks good so far, looks like a cross-breed of the Connie and Excelsior :)

Actually you're half right.  It's a designed that I've worked on before heavily based on the Excelsior.

I can't wait to see what the saucer and nacelles look like. But a great start.

It's gonna be a long wait, unfortunately.  I really don't have much of any idea how to do a great many things, so I'm pretty much flying blind at this point.

This isn't gonna be a very fancy design, that much I can assure you.  It'll be simple, as most good things are.

*smacks GMAN with a rubber chicken and turns him into Starr Jones*     Just kidding.

Well, I made my own ship a long time ago, the Resurrection.  And one day I hope to rebuild her properly.  But that's gonna be a long while.

I'm just trying to make a higher quality version of a ship I worked on a long time ago.  Could never bash a new version that matched it quite right, and always intended to go back one day and replace all the low poly parts with newer, higher poly parts.  Slowly trying to do that now.

Chocolate chip sounds nice. Don't forget the milk.

Sorry for being kinda off topic guyz. Just a little bit of fun.

Ask anyone that knows me well enough, and they'll tell you I've made my reputation on lousy kitbashes and being off topic.  I personally don't mind it.

Don't slam me! You'll smash my thin bones!

I'm good at guessing... :P

anyway, in all seriousness, that is looking INCREDIBLE. nice job, can't wait to see what's going to happen to this new ship.

*rummages through Captain_April's pockets, pulls out his wallet, removes the cash and cards and other things, puts them back into April's pockets, then takes the wallet*

Nice wallet.   :P

When it comes to the ship, I know I can make a new torpedo pod/pylon set, which I plan on doing next.  After that, I'm somewhat screwed.  I'll probably just bash a new saucer together, but the warp engines are another matter.

What do you think is filling up the cargo holds of the ship I'm trying to build?   8)

Besides, I'm basically hijacking my own thread.

is this a WIP or a role play thread? Either way I like it.
