Avenger 2.0
« on: November 23, 2008, 02:15:30 PM »
I know most of my models never get past textureing *if even* but meh I thought I'd revive one of my old models

presenting the avenger... made this thing maybe 2 years ago and felt it needed some fixing

Here are a few pics to remind everyone what it looks like.

I'll post updats when I finish editing parts.

Neb, that is super cool. If it gets past the texturing stage, I would be more than willing to help you out with the HP.

very nice. if i might make some suggestions, pull the warp nacelles in closer to the engineering hull, increase the size of the saucer section by about 10%, and decrease the size of the impulse manifolds by about 25%

I think not.... that would hide the bussard collectors and that goes against 99% of fed ships (and rod's law)

you'll see what changes I did soon.

P.s. anyone have any good tuts for phaser banks?

here are some update pics

1. added a torpedo tube section under the deflector dish
2. added torp tube/tractor beam section in the rear
3. shortened the engineering section so it lines up better with the hull on top of saucer section.
4. changed the impulse engines slightly

Very nice design.

But IMO there's something about the nacelle struts that seems to not fit in with the rest of the lines of the ship...

The ship is clean and streamlined, while the struts seem jagged and somewhat clunky... for lack of a better description.

Once again though, excellent work.
