Phobos class
« on: January 06, 2009, 06:59:36 PM »
Could not wait to start my next ship so I knock up this one. It would be the Sovereign-class replacement for the Mirada.

Neat idea. The pylons are very unusual. I like.

Not bad, are you going to keep the Deflector Sovereign Style as well?

If it's replacing the Miranda class, it won't need a deflector.

Well that could go for any starship now, but with the size of that ship it would look nice with a deflector, even if it's not really 'out there'.

Looks very cool.

I also think a deflector would look better on this ship.

Good work!

Thanks Prime, I thought  in-board pylons would be better protected. Besides The Sov engines do not lend themselves to top mounting as seen in the Mirada and Nebula Class.

As for a deflector I may add one to the weapons pod above the handlebar. Also I will add and aft section similar to the Mirada.

The pod is a bit "busy", perhaps it'll come out better on the actual model?

 I like what I see...
The Nacelles could be a bit 'Higher and tighter' if you know what I mean... but meh

I like the idea of upside-down nacelles Limey, dunno why though... just weird (which I like)

Baz I'd go with limey's version although I think the pod is too big and should be more streamlined and I too think that the nacelles should be move up closer to the rest of the ship. As for pylons I think the straight ones mounted to upside down nacelles.

Think of it as a precaution incase a torpedo went stray and barreled off. WIth it at that height it's safe, without standing out too much. Gets better with every update.

From Ver2.jpg it looks like you're going to add an engineering section or something there, am I right?
