Yay!  Now DJ needs to pick up that one ship from ages back, and we're set!  What was it called, the Allegro?

I'd like to see how small this is compared to the Ent lol.

Nice looking ship.

-textured the shuttlebay
-mapped the forward parts of the nacelles covering the bussard collectors, as well as the dorsal cowlings.
-added more bumped hull details.
-added a few windows to the secondary hull
-started adding transporter emitters.
-started a nacelle grill texture.
-textured the spine
-mapped the cobra head and the separation cavity of the saucer.
-made some minor mesh alterations to the shuttlebay door.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I've decided that the time period for this ship will be early 2370's, about the time of the Sovereign and Intrepid Class.  It just seems to fit with that era.  I'll probably call this a full-size offshoot program of the Defiant development.  That seems to make sense for a ship this heavily armed.

Very nice. It looks a little odd without bussard collectors on the nacelles but I suspect there is a reason for this.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

Billz--> There's bussards.  They're on the underside.  They'll be textured late today.

Aces_High--> Yes, there's saucer sep.  I'll show it off once that part is textured.

-worked on the nacelles.  the aft tips will be different from what they are.
-bussards and forward nacelles textured.
-added some decals and paneling to the spine.
-changed the nacelle grill texture.  still want to do some work to it to add realism though.
-in the renders i now see i'm missing a phaser decal on the secondary hull by the spine.  i'll fix that.

I'm taking a lot of stylistic cues from LC's Intrepid class, if you hadn't noticed.  :)

suggestions?

I am LOVING this design, DJ!  Though looking at it from the side view, the nacelles look maybe 30% too small.  :S

Besides that, though, VERY nice!

The pylons look a bit flimsy but overall love stuff. :) Can't wait to kick something with it.
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."
