I love how DJ has the gift for seeing the grandsons of every ship design lineage LOL

I still don't get why a "Sun Tzu" class is named "Athena". pretty contradictory if you ask me.
but it does have a point between fighter and explorer. that sleekness suits it.

A. It sounds cool!
B. A Galaxy class starship called Yamato? Same point you're making. :D

But you do have a valid point.

As for the ship itself, what weapons are going to be included? Any custom torpedoes? It is a future warship after all... :D

Real nice ship dj there is something about a kick the door in ship. Borg beware
Stewie (to Lois): Look at him. He runs like a Welshman. Doesn't he run like a Welshman? Doesn't he? I think he runs like a Welshman. ...

Thanks guys.

Also, I've done some work on the lateral sensors.

Sorry not too many updates lately, it's been busy at work.

Any suggestions you guys have are welcome.

I suggest you keep inspiring me to improve my federation design skills hehe.

If it wasnt for your skill, DJ, Id be lost when it comes to feds. You gave me some ideas for the Ares, when I get the mesh back im going to dig into it with some changes.

At any rate, keep up the good work :)

My 2 cents, I like the idea of the warp grilles on the saucer as a kind of sustainer, but I don't think the saucer needs bussard collectors.

And about the bussards...  Why 2?  Everyone says "bussards".
How about just one along the centerline?  It wouldn't need to be a bulb, maybe just a pane of glass that's red.  Maybe just above the secondary deflector array? :arms:

Well, here are 3 ideas I had for a possible bussard collector.

Agreed. The first one is clearly the best alternative. However, let's let DJ Curtis make that determination.

First one.

The third configuration kinda looks like a face, lol.

Warp grills = Eyes
Secondary deflector = Nose
Bussard collector = mouth

Only looks like a face in the third picture.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

I would have the Buzzard highlighting around the saucer nacelles.

I agree with the rest.

Not only does it look cool. But it also seems more natural to have the bussards there, since we always see them right in front of the nacells.
