You can render to whatever size you like.. i.e 512 x 512 or 2048 x 2048, but your mapping is all down to how you actually apply your uvw mapping, its a slow process, but if you need more input i will need to see the UVW sheet mate.  8)

ok, so i got pretty much all the saucer mapped and textured, but now im stuck a the hull, when i do the cylinder map, it turns out looking nothing like it should, when i do the map in xyz to uvw, it looks PERFECT, but it wont fit in the renderer window, when i try to scale it down so it would fit, everything goes haywire. anyone know what could be causing this?
does this mean my mesh is too big and i gotta scale it down?

have you tried moving the cylinder, when mapping it as a cylindrical map? Sometimes it doesn't know how to map it automatically and then you can align a cylinder to your Mesh (by scaling, rotating and moving) and it will look better.

whew, well this has been an interesting week, figured id drop in and let yall know how shes doin, i been slowly workin on the textures, and theyr coming along nicely, surprisingly once i figured it out, its all gravy, got no pics as of yet, ran into a few kinks in the mesh that went unnoticed, and theyr being ironed out, but hopefully ill have SOMETHING to present by next friday. i have to walk down to a library to get internet access nowadays. maybe by the end of the month shell b ready for hardpointing...... hopefully.  :D

:D well im grateful for all the feedback guys.
glad its being accepted by everyone, tell the truth i was a bit sketchy myself about it.
but its came out better than i had hoped for.

shes almost done, little bit of detailing and polishing needs to be done, doing its not the problem, its finding the time.
im gonna shoot for the end of next week, but no promises. i have alot on my plate right now with training, paperwork, and keeping house in order. im still figuring i have a month or two before im off to basic training, so she should be done well before that, heck if im lucky ill have one of my other 3 started by then and Arsenal out the door. so look for a new post from me by next week with the schematics up for the other 3. i might just take a vote on which one to start on.

thanks guys!

ok guys hee she is, i should have the mesh and all up on bc files later today. i understand that some will feel that this is not 100% done, and i COMPLETELY agree, however with everything going on right now i just cant find the time to get it to where id feel shes done. so if ANYONE wants to tweak the textures, mesh etc. be my guest, as long as the name stays the same and i get credit for the original design.
also, re-textures and refits are welcome, just let me know before hand.

there are some things texture wise that i simply couldnt get rid of, i.e. the black box under the shuttle bay, and the white squares on the front of the ventral nacelle bussards.

i hope that someone will give her the tlc she needs to be in full glory.
as for the other 3 ships that i have in mind, i plan to start them as soon as i get everything settled with the army.
im gonna try to get the schematics up for them sometime this week so i can take a vote from everyone and get them started.

Thanks for the input and everything that yall have taught me over the months, i think ive learned more here in these forums than i could have ever learned in some classroom (not that im dissing classes or ppl in school for this type of stuff, im just not a classroom type of guy).

whoever wants to do the hardpointing, please PM me so i can give you the low down as to what i had intended to have.
remember, shes the arsenal, and id like her to live up to her namesake.

LONG LIVE THE ARSENAL!!!
