ok before i get smacked, i know this issue has been discussed/remedied several times; i did research around the forums for a remedy and, while i prolly overlooked it, i still seem to be having no luck...
anyway, i got a new widescreen monitor and as i figured, the menus in BC seem a bit stretched (moreso horizontally)...  it is tolerable, i normally play at 1280*1024 but im wondering if i can slightly fix it?  i did make sure i had the latest drivers installed, and i did try changing the values in option.cfg to 1280*800 and such...  but BC doesnt even want to load lol immediate crash...  i do have an old nvidia 5500 card installed, so is it possible that maybe my card just doesnt support anything but the standard resolutions?  or maybe i overlooked something?  i normally play at 1280*1024...  any ideas?

I don't know all that much about video cards but you might need a newer card. If you do get a new one I recommend you get a really nice new one. That way it will last you for a long time.

Your card isn't at fault, BC was made before wide-screen was available (at least, for computers).

BC can't work with wide-screen at all. :(

If your lucky it will either stretch, or it will have black bars at the side.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

Can you load in Windowed mode (at least you can resize them, and it Might remember the size for the window, Oh and you can center them as well) (just thought)

When I had BC set to 1280x800, the only problem was slightly messed-up shield displays.  Other than that, no problems.
