Okay as above the question is, what size limit do the textures for planets have?

Probably the same as any other nif (so the same as ships).

usually around 4096 x 4096

but i think it depends on the persons graphics card

No no, the texture limit is bc-wise and some older graphic cards dont have the ability to show them. but when the texture is above the bc limit it wont show. Doing a nice earth texture at the moment. nasa pictures forever!

You are lucky that in space, all directions are relative. Otherwise, I would've said that Australia is upside down, lol.
