Personal Mod...Opinion
« on: August 06, 2009, 11:40:46 AM »
Hey folks,
Just an opinion on one thing.

I've been working very hard lately on the DJ Galaxy.  I'm working with the Single Player campaign, I wanted basically a DJ version of the Dauntless and San Francisco in game.

My question is.  Should I let the Dauntless have all three Impulse Engines run?  Or like the Standard Galaxy with only the drive section impulse engine running?  (I'm leaning more towards all three since it is set shortly after the Dominion War).

And I hate sounding rude, and I'm sorry if it comes across this way, but please don't ask me to release this, as DJ hasn't given me permission to do so.

And also, forgive me if this is in the wrong forum...

hmm ya know I think it should only have the drive section on...

Going by the intro movie the Dauntless doesn't have saucer impulse engines.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Ok, I've thought about it, and I'm going to keep them on.  As I would use the "Challenger" hardpoint for the ship.  I would think it'd be only logical since the game is set shortly after the Dominion War era, and just before Nemesis.

Thanks Neb for your opinion :).

But the Challenger HP is from Timeless, 15 years after the Dominion War. A bit overly advanced...

Klingon Academy now works on XP/Vista/Win 7 thanks to one dude's patches, click here for details. I highly recommend it!

I would fit it with Nemesis yellow short burst firing phasers and Nem/FC photons or even Nem quantums if this ship is post Dominion War I would think that not only Sovereign have been fitted with new types of weapons ;)

that's quite easy, you just need Model Property Editor and just edit weapons power, discharge/recharge rate and color as well as hull/shields capabilities,
you could use weapons strenght/colors from my PDW Excelsior for reference.
I could either guide you trough whole process or update HP for your need ;)

It's quite easy as I said, the best wy to learn HPing is trial and error :D try editing your HP with MPE tool start from basic things like changing hull strenght values, phasers etc. then proceed to adding new torpedoes additional systems or even blinkers ;)
For reference use KM 1.0, I always balance my TNG HPs to theirs ;) also if you need NEM short busrts and quick recharge phasers use Dominion Bug ship polaron beam from it's HP or my PDW Excelsior or Post Nem Sovereign as they all have NEM like phasers fire rate

Hehe, I know I've tinkered a bit in MPE before...but as far as trial and error...well that's how I learned to texture :D.

Now all I need to do is learn how to model :|

Now all I need to do is learn how to model Neutral
Now that's a bit more of a problem don't ya think ;)
I'm still tryin' to make a decent TMP saucer without ANY progress so I guee I'm really stuborn student :P
I find modeling really hard upon texturing... that's why I admire DJ's, Willey's, LC's, P81's, Mark's and any other BC elder modeler skills ;)

hehe, well I've been tinkering with an idea that I've only had on paper.

And I'll work on it more once the FC pack is finished :)

But for now.  I'm trying to get these galaxies in game LOL

For those who would like pics :arms:

P.S. don't mind the stock star field and the lack of specular maps...I haven't finished the specs yet, and well, I'm too lazy at the moment to change the starfield :P

BLEH double post...

Star Drive and Saucer sections.

Also is there anyone with good audio editing software?  I've found what sounds like the original seperation sound and it's a bit poppy and needs a bit of clearing also.

He hasn't. His graphics are set on Low Colour Depth. It does that.
