I apologize for going off topic, but, its good information for those interested.
Congrats on completing basic training, Private. Just so you know, 15P is more like "flight administration" for the Army. If some one told you that you'd be manning a door gun, they told you wrong.
You'll be doing things like: processing local and cross country flight clearances, checking accuracy of and coordinating flight plans, maintaining logs of incoming and outgoing flights, interpreting and posting weather reports, and maintaining files. Of course, this is all just what the Army says your MOS does and your actual duties will vary.
That being said, if you're looking for a steady job when you're done with AIT, check out this:
http://www.dmva.state.pa.us/dmva_png_hro/lib/dmva_png_hro/announcements/techjobs_%28090922%29.pdf Fed Tech program is interesting... its basically the U.S. Government's way of getting active duty Soldiers for the Guard and Reserve with out giving them active duty military benefits. The program operates in every state.
The plus side is that you're working for the Federal Government... so the job is stable. The downside is you don't get BAH, BAS, COLA... etc. However, for some jobs tech pay is considerably better because its based more on the skill of your job than the flat military pay grade is. I've been working as one for the last couple years... the unit I drill with is also the unit I work for full time. Just something for you to look into.
