Nemesis Sovereign Retexture - Released
« on: September 28, 2009, 03:05:26 PM »
This was inspired after Erk posted the CG shots of the nemesis sovereign over trek discussion forum. I've always wanted to dig my teeth into the sovereign's azteching & these reference shots made it possible :D

Ive only been at this a few hours now, but I think it's lookin good :P The azteching is not generic, ive studied the model and replicated the same pattern onto the CG sovereign. This is obivously going to take longer than normal ships due to the crazy amount of patterns on the hull, but the final result should be worth it ;)

Thanks for CG for having a free usage on his model, without it, this would not be possible :)

Enjoy the first 2 images.

One side shows the original textures, the darker side is the nemesis retexture

Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

you sir, are unable to strike, the port or starboard parts of hull , of a bovine storage facility.
Canon , what people argue exists, that doesn't really  exist.

Thanks, I always start at a resolution of 2048, so then if i need to scale them down they i can. Never the opposite way round as they will be blurred if increased :)

Just thought it was about time the Sovvy was brought up to todays standards. Not saying the textures are bad, they are infact the exact opposite, it's just no-one except eclipse or myself has ever attempted brand new textures for her which bugged the hell outter me seeing the same textures used over and over for different mods, sorta like the SNS galaxy. That's why i redone that one... Just waiting on permission to release that one :P.

I think it onyl looks dark with a lack of speculars and possibly bad lighting.
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

there is a major color change between the FC Ent-E and Nemesis. The FC Ent was pretty much light gray all around with few variation in color. In Nemesis, they gave the ship a complete make over and darkened her to a dark gray based ship. In my opinion the darker colors are nicer, they take that clean innocent look away from the Big-E and make her more intimidating.

Here's a CG renders of the Ent-E:

And these are pictures of the FC Studio model:
