I made my first model in Gmax, the Planet ship. Could someone texture it for me? I don't have Paint Shop pro or anything like that. Also, if you don't think it's good enough and want to change it, just PM me. Is there anything else besides HPing that i need to do? Thank you.

(Also taking reccomendations for registry.)

Have a read through this article I wrote at the BCWiki.

Just constructive criticism here, your model is really in no shape to go past the modeling phase yet. Before rushing into trying to get a ship in the game, I'd practice hard at modeling. Perhaps something a little more specific in form?

didn't mean to. just don't like to get people's hopes up. it takes a lot of practice to get anything in the game that looks good. it's worth the effort.

DJ Curtis is correct.

this is a few shapes, placed together. which in itself is fine, but it needs to be unified, then unwrapped. Nobody would take this on to texture in its current form.

I Agree. @ The Thread Author, If you make things you would like to see in game? More the Better. Just remember this. You mod for yourself. And the rest will fall into place. I too was told what could and could not be done. It's only impossible when you don't try.

Yes, it is possible to create real scale Worldships in game. But too give you some inspiration,

Also, pay close attention that you have the thing dead centered on the longitudinal axis. Also, don't be afraid to double the segmentation on the saucer edge.

sorry for the delayed response, dont get allot of time to log on, so when I do I kind of do it in bursts.

the white line would be the spline you draw, then you lathe it on the axis of the red line.

For a connie hull, you then need to boolean or whatever method you prefer to create the cuts at the bottom and the shuttle bay areas..

Are you positive you only did a half of the spline you drew? If you cut it lengthways, then it should come up as the basic shape, like Aramus has shown on the image.

It sounds like you might have to click on the Min button in the align section of the lathe menu once you've done the initial lathe operation.

google chess set tutorials, there are tuns of spline lathing tuts on that subject.
