Converting Nifs
« on: January 13, 2010, 08:20:09 PM »
Some mods that I have installed are all in .nif format... including the textures. Does anyone know of a free program where I can convert nifs to tga?

I'd like to be able to tweak some ship textures and the one I currently would like to modify happens to have all its' files in nif format.

Thanks

I know that importing the .nif in Milkshape will convert the .nif textures to .tga's, but the color will be off, but that's the only program I can think of.

There's a modified .nif importer for Milkshape that keeps the correct colors, but I don't have it here at the moment. I'm sure someone will post it.

why thank you.  i also have a few I'd like to tweak  one, especially, is an abandonware model that is crying for a more modern PDW style skin.

Thanks but a question... This may be an obvious one but will this importer only work within the Milkshape program? If so is there a nif to tga converter that is a "stand alone" app?
