NX01 --> Torpedo Cruiser --> Akira Class

Only thing missing then, is a good TMP-era ship to fill out the lineage.

I could see an excelsior/connie hybrid filling that role.

Model looks very neat. Something about the simplicity of the TOS designs is always appealing.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

It wouldn't stop someone from building it. Nice job on the model. I think I went a tad overboard with the torpedo bays on my TOS Akira. I was thinking about rebuilding my old TOS ships. I want to see how yours plays ingame.

Mine will be relativley simple to keep in line with TOS.  Probably 6 or 8 shots from the two tubes in the pod.  Standard phasers.

If you look at the third picture in the previous post (non textured model)  there are two, one on each end of the secondary hulls.

Interesting...I personally just figured they were impulse engines.  :idk: Me so silly.

Fast is a good thing when you got most of the parts already done.

Only one critisism, and that would be the aft end of the "torpedo pod" looks a bit lacking in terms of model details. Forward end of the pod looks good just the way it is, but the aft section looks a bit... bland.

Thanks Darkthunder.  I agree that the back of the torp pod looks plain.  I'll see what I can do with it.

what I would do is put a second impulse engine on the back of the pod, TOS ships had mainly forward armaments anyway

Has the class name been decided yet? If not, I suggest Masamune- or Muramasa-class..
