New Tardis For BC
« on: April 14, 2010, 03:55:06 PM »
Hello all

Ok this has got to be the best thing i've ever made (probobly because its a BOX  :P ). I've been playing with GMAX and getting the hang of it, so i decided that i would make a new TARDIS for Bridge Commander theres still a fair bit to do. Likw half the detail, and smoothing and other stuff i probobly don't know about yet...

I was also wondering if anyone would be intrested in texturing it, and HPing it. And perhaps someone to look at it once i've done to see if i need to change anything

Heres what i've got so far...

Looks nice, though which version are you aiming for?

I have noticed that the matt smith tardis has a st johns ambulance sticker on the door and white trim around the windows.

You could alway stick in a MVAM to have the door open to see the control room.

It's only disquised as a Police Box.
That is due to a faulty chameleon circuit (DW version of a cloaking device). The interior and exterior of the TARDIS are not present in the same dimension. The exterior (Police Box) only serves as a trans-dimensional doorway to the actual TARDIS ship, which is theorised to be as big on the inside as a 2-story building.

But enough of the backstory. You can check wikipedia for the rest.
The model itself looks great. Personally, I'd base it off the Christopher Eccleston/David Tennant TARDIS, but that is just a preference.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

Eccleston ftw. Only good doc imo. Model looks neat though, good to see new people not jumping in with fed designs (Even though I did.  )

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

Wasn't my first, just my first released work. ;) I'm curious, though. Will it have some sort of attack like the Phalantium Wave seeing as it doesn't have any real weaponry? Could get it by rabid fans by saying the Doc opened the ships core up again or something.  ;)

If you could make the model spin ingame...

Hmmm... I wonder... Surely there has to be some way other than just dropping engine power really low when in a tumble...

Well, jb got the new planet to spin ingame, and that's a Cord-type planet (a ship ingame, not a planet), so it might be possible.

What about the time rotor noises?

Will you set up the cloaking device subsystem to use these noises?
Good quality ship noises >
&feature=related
Also, can the speed of the cloaking effect be controlled in-game somehow?
One more thing, you should set it up to use the slipstream system as that would be the closest thing to a time vortex.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

wow i honestly just want to put this  :eek  :eek

can i point out this would be my first ship for Bridge commander :P and i haven't tried texturing, or scripting ... so it'll take a while. As for the ideas there all great :)

You could alway stick in a MVAM to have the door open to see the control room.

errr i'm not that good........yet

The model itself looks great. Personally, I'd base it off the Christopher Eccleston/David Tennant TARDIS, but that is just a preference.

Thanks :), i was thinking of doing a pack and have....
(new series)
Series 1 ------------- TARDIS with BAD WOLF sprayed on one side
Series 2/3 ----------- normal TARDIS
Series 4 "Turn Left" -- TARDIS with all text replaced with "bad wolf"
Series 5 ------------- new TARDIS with the white rim windows and the st johns ambulance sticker.

I'm curious, though. Will it have some sort of attack like the Phalantium Wave seeing as it doesn't have any real weaponry? Could get it by rabid fans by saying the Doc opened the ships core up again or something.  ;)

I was planning a pulse from a christmas episode. Although it only made it snow in that episode :P. I'd make it more of a EMP weapon.

Thanks for the link. I was actually thinking about retexturing the slipstream for a time vortex....but as for scripting  :lostit: i dunno where to start.

Yeesh, give him a chance, he's not even got it in BC yet. :P

Yes do what Dalek said :P... i love the ideas though

Errr a little update.....

I haven't given up yet i've just got side tracked, and i think i'm going to end up making a Doctor Who ship pack :P

the TARDIS is having its poly count decreased while the Dalek mothership is being built :). I might even make a dalek to have a fight with that EVA suit made by Starfleet R-D.

anyway heres how it looks at the moment ( i have this thing about putting nebulea int the vieport :P)

 :eek

A dalek ship?!?

...

I love you.  :P

If you end up making daleks aswell, will they be launchable from the dalek ship? You could have an option to launch one dalek and another option to launch a small squadron of daleks. Please don't do those new stupid 'Power Ranger' ( ) looking daleks from the latest episode.

EDIT:
Proper short version of take off sound effect
