It may just be how BC's engine renders transparent textures.

Please see the below quote from Genty on how to do animated bussards.

This is the method used on both my TOS and JJprise ship packs. And warp warm up works as well.

The setting up I was refering to is with the mesh itself. In the attached pic it shows how I would do it. It's a cross section of the bussard dome. The red line is the outer dome if the model which has the animated transparent texture applied. The black line is the part which glows, it is hidden inside the model and the reason there is a gap between the 2 is because i've noticed if the transparent layer is too close to the glow layer it can sometimes dissapear ruining the effect.

Would it help to weld the inner dome to the outer dome?

Klingon Academy now works on XP/Vista/Win 7 thanks to one dude's patches, click here for details. I highly recommend it!

No the outer dome must remain a seperate part to te rest of the ship.

I recomend downloading either my JJprise MK5 or my TOS connie and import the nif into max.

Both outer caps should be attached together as 1 piece.

baz in your bussard the animation is in outer dome! my animation is in inner dome!!
Now I try to correct the distance between the inner and outer!

yes on mine the animation is on the outer dome with the opacity turned down and the anmination is illuminated by the glow map on the inner dome.

If you have nif tools plug in there should be a nif option in your import menu in max.
