Did someone say Pytor Velikiy?  Ok here you go

Read up the page a little.

Personally I think ZZ's Kestrel is still looking good.

You picked the best looking ships on SFM for this pic in my opinion.

Here's an idea I had:
See the middle ship?  The Predator?  From this perspective, it looks Miranda-ish, with two nacelles...  just saying... would make an interesting kitbash... ;)

Hmm...how about...a Capella with the Nacelles up? That would be awesome... :dance

I have the Capella on my "to do" list but, I was going to do the nacelles down version.

Maybe both? For some reason I like it more with the nacelles up...it seems less like a Miranda to me, and more like its own ship. I mean, either way, I'd download it, because all your stuff is fantastic.

This is an education, this thread. I'd always glossed over the goofy-looking SFM designs, and not given them much thought. Seeing them fleshed out like this is an eye-opener. There was a really nicely mapped out evolution of the Starfleet design ethic, before Enterprise and JJTrek muddied the waters (though I love the Kelvin).

I've groaned about the endless TOS connie kitbashes being churned out as "TOS this" or "TOS that", but these, for the most part, really have their own character. I've just noticed how some of those ships have bulbous and overly-rounded nacelles. I wonder if Ryan Church drew any inspiration from them? I'd like to think he and the rest of the design team at least surveyed Trek history to gain a flavour of what we expected.

Any plans to make a few Romulan, civvie, or other non-Starfleet ships from the museum?

It might be sacrilege to say it, but I do remember some of those designs being extremely simple and under-detailed, even by TOS standards (*As if in apology, turns head and gazes lovingly at DST HD TOS 1701 on nearby shelf* Simple or no, it's a gorgeous starship), is there any chance of greebling, or breaking the curves here and there, taking a little artistic licence with some of the more hideously simplistic designs? Or are you just leaving them on the cutting room floor?
