Programs for ship design

I'm a new modder with a lot of time to spent and i want to know which programs do i need for ship mod design and which programs do i need to make the files of the ship and the programs to put the ship in the game.

I would like to know this too.  It would be nice just to have a full tutorial using one 3D Design Program.  The steps to create a certain model.
A program to create it's textures and the steps in doing so.
A program to create the model properties
And the whole script writing thing
Then adding the ship to game

All on one thread...That would be great to have a clear concise SOP that we could at least succeed at and then work on from there.

also, there are a number of threads in the BC Modding forum where others have also asked this...

the info is all here; it just takes some time to look around, read some threads, try the search function, and do some research...

Just to see if you dedicated Download the trail for 3d Max or Download Blender (it's free)

for making textures download Gimp,  which is also free and all you need.

Yeah, I've been through it. 
Some of them were the most confusing tutorials I've ever seen. 
The google Sketch up tutorials are the best modeling tutorials I've ever seen anywhere and they're a good template for all tutorials.

did you check out Blaxxer's thread?  seemed like it might have some good tips of what you need to get started...
also, there is much more info in this forum; i know 11 pages contains alot of threads to sort through, but the info is there...
