Starforce's Project thread: Update feb 21 First and final posts
« on: January 21, 2011, 11:17:08 PM »
I guess it's time for this. I hope to have enough stuff coming out soon to warrant a project thread. Modelers have them, so I guess an HP'er can have one too.

On the plate:
Tactical Borg pill (not started)
Renegade borg (Lore) I am going to cap this ship at 2000m for the longest dimension for playability and because there is disagreement on size. (not started)
Romulan fighter (tng) (released)
Romulan frigate (tng) (released)
Old warbird (not started)
One of mackies brel bashes I missed (forgot this one too..will try and convert this shortly)
T'pau, low res (released)
Type 15 shuttle (did I do this yet? I forget)
Probert klingon shuttle (released)
A pair of Premonition kitbashes (preparing to convert)
A number of msc utility ships, such as a number of klingon cargo and carrier variants of the KCX from SFC, (not started)
+Whatever mackie can crank out (in progress)
I'll cap the list here, but add more as I go.
Tholian cargo (Converted)
2 defiant era shuttles (converted)
1 Ferengi runabout (Conevrted)
Klingon fighter (mesh errors being fixed) -will need one texture lightmaped
Avis romulan battlecruiser: Hp completed, mesh errors being investigated-(On hold)

Finished:
Surpasser

I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

due to the upcoming forum down time, I will create a counterpart to this thread at BCS. Anyone testing ships for me at the moment can post progress updates there as well.

I an opening this up to public testing since I seem to be getting ships that explode when hitting nacelles and such. I am getting sick of seeing this error, it's not the first of recent ships, the COndor had it too. SO far as I know the firehawk hp it's based on is not the issue because I don't remember the firehawk having a core problem. If anyone wants to give it a whirl, be kind and post feedback. The cruiser is to fill the same role as the vorcha, from the same time period. It should have roughly the same combat ability, which means a galaxy should be able to beat one but probably not 2.

Also for those testing the anaconda, a new stronger hp with modified torpedo tubes and phasers has been attached. I've not had time to locate the nessecary torpedo textures so if you don't have the cg sov it will look wierd.

Edit: For those who've tested the avis, feel free to post here with feedback and let me know if you've had the nacelle damage causing the ship to explode error.

Ok, status update:

Anaconda DN is pretty much done except for basic cleanup work, icons, ect
Her sister ship, a 2 nacelled standard version has all systems placed correctly as of tonight, leaving a few minor balance changes and then the same as the ship above.

A tholian cargo ship as been converted and is ready for modding.

Avis warbird is still being tested? I'd l've to know if more than one person is experiencing issues with damage causing issues with the model but so far meager responses and no answers to that specific question have gotten back to me. The lack of replies to this thread suggest nobody gives a damn..I guess I don't throw betas out there any more and take the time to test them myself, which of course cuts into time I could be spending modding other ships. I may just release it as is, since I can't confirm the issue with more than one person since nobody will get on it, and I haven't the modeling skills to fix it anyways.

Additionally I've found 2 runabouts/shuttles and a ferengi one, and the original thread confirming I got permission to port them so those will get done soon since shuttles take almost no time.

Alright, cool. I am likely going to a meeting for a local reptile club so I dunno how much modding I'll get done tonight either. Hopefully though, I can get rid of those 2 fed BB's.

Very basic, it relives the irritation caused by borg implants, all you have to do is take it twice everyday!

It's the ship from voyager, where they beamed a torpedo into it to blow it up. Also appeared in Armada 1, as the transwarp ship. Except, my version has tac armor.

Update on the mackie bashes. 7 Ships are now basicly hardpointed. Some ballance and adjustments need to be made, as well as icon editing, but basicly done. Einherjer, Pride, trooper and behemoth use their original counterparts hardpoint files with the nessecary adjustments and thus require reviews of their icons and are done after that.

The remaining ships are excelcior based, except the twister and challenger classes. I hopefully can make good progress on these tomarrow. I also hope to get the new avis mesh out to a couple of people for testing, and Alec over at the SFC boards has messed with it, as well as getting fallen worriors klingon fighter mesh errors sorted so it can be converted as well. It will be about 35m in length.

Also on the blocks for finishing include the 2 fed sov era battleships. I may also start my last warbird as well.

Avis model fixes failed, model is still a problem. May need to release it as a damage off mod. Anyone else want to figure it out?
