Yeah, for a couple of the warp-out shots.

The thing is, no CG galaxy class ever built has been 100% accurate. Most have had pretty glaring innacuracies, especially the "These Are The Voyages" model.

When I saw that teaser, the electrons flew out of my atoms and I dematerialised with shear awe. It looks so gorgeous, I thought I was looking at a perfect CG model.

Unless they borrow the filming model from Paul Allen, 3D-scan it, remove those thingies from the backs of the nacelles, and somehow mock-up the original paintjob, they wouldn't be able to remain consistent with the model work. And, to be frank, I don't think CGI could EVER look as phenomenal as that model.

This teaser has single handedly made me mourn the death of the physical model in Sci-Fi.

I already see everywhere here jumping in the air and saying wauw.. Just looked at the teaser and mmmmh. It's not bad but to say "ooh great".. I really want to see more, perhaps a small action scene. If it's going to be this, i'm not giving anything and just watch the old stuff.

In HD it might be easier to read Jokes on the LCARS and other props.

HOLY crap I just noticed just before the 2 second mark to just after 3 second mark you can see someone walk out of the conference room when the camera passes over it. O.o

I have this idea... which may be a very old memory... or I may be making it up...

That they filmed Patrick Stewart walking through the obs. lounge, set up a projector with that footage loaded, aimed it at the model of the Enterprise, and placed a mask between the ship and the projector, with holes cut such that the footage only appeared in the windows of the obs. lounge. It worked because due to the technique of motion control, it was the camera that flew past the Enterprise, and not vice versa, so the model stayed stationary, and the projector didn't have to be rigged for movement too.

thanks for posting. The differences are huge, especially in that farpoint scene at the beginning.

It's oke but not that big... I would never buy it but i borrowed my season 1 tng at a good gf of mine and she complained that the mid section (grip center of dvd player) was cracked.. I opened my season 2 box and everything was cracked. Did a quick search on the net and apparantly, these jewel cases of tng have a high pressure and they mess up the dvd's
