Wow... I want it the sample disc... but, I'd rather wait for the full season... ugh, stop tearing me apart TNG!

The Ent-D model holds up well in HD.

Finally!!!  :yay:  :yay:  :yay:

Looks like they got rid of the ugly 4 foot model created for season 4.

That shot from "The Inner Light" shows the Flyby which was filmed with the 4 footer... and now:

It is replaced with an accurate CGI mesh of the 6 foot Enterprise!!!

Looks like we will get a coherent ship throughout the whole show!

That really made my day!

I never could stand those jumps in continuity concerning the models. Yes, sure... the surface details of the 4 foot model were amazing, but the 6 foot model is what the Enterprise was supposed to look like... more gracile, more feminine.

Thanks to the remastering team for cleaning this issue!!!

I must say, the quality is amazing of the characters. Worf looks good, the scenes, persons, they all look amazing! And if i'm gonna buy it, its purely for this.

But i must say that this:

is a bit too game-like almost.. Also the rainbow streak stars :lostit:

That's the shot I was talking about.  :)

I always hated the 4 foot model. I am so glad they replaced it.

To me, i didn't noticed the difference until some people in star trek outfits started complaining about it. Then i realised it.. But euh, the shot i posted, i hope they are gonna redo that.. This really looks like a re-render from the star trek the final unity game..

Let's not forget that this is just a screenshot of an object in movement. The faster it moves the stronger the motion blur occures to the viewer.

Comparing it with the original footage, it looks almost like a perfect match in illumination... I will post some side to side comparisons later.

That is not a CG model Captain_Storma. That is the physical model.

None of the ships are CG in the remastered version.

They redid all the special effects shots, but with the original model footage. There is probably digital enhancements done on it, but that is the 6 foot model.

Actually there are CG Shots in the remastered version... Some pointed out it may be Tobias Richter's Galaxy model that was used for them.
but 90% of the time it is just remastered film footage.

At least that's what I heard.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Well according to Doug Drexlers blog all the shots are 1:1 of the original. Same with the FX shots

Too bad... a lost opportunity.

That's an error I would really love to see fixed.

Actually take a look at the shot with the Galaxy and BOP in "Sins of the Father" You'll notice they are in different positions and details are also slightly different. (here is a prim example of some CG work)

They'll use the original models where they can, but CGI will have to come into play for some episodes.  ANY appearances of a Borg cube will definitely need to be CGI - the TNG studio model couldn't hold up to HD scrutiny to save its life.  I wouldn't be surprised if the battle in "Yesterday's Enterprise" gets re-done in CGI too (I actually wouldn't mind that to be honest).

I'd prefer to see the 4ft model replaced with a CGI of the 6 footer, but I can live with it being there.

Yeah, I can Def tell with the BOP, the ENT-D model you really have to look closely.
The BOP's proportions feel way off.

HD version of that EW video from a couple weeks back

Even more screen caps.

http://tng.trekcore.com/bluray/index.html#sfin_ex

HD gives us the opportunity to read screens we could never read before, or as well.

Except for the one screen on "Sins of the Father" there, because they used the SD shot close up, might have been another case of them not having original footage.
