Shield strength in %

Hi,

I downloaded Kobayashi Maru and i hate the shield textures (they seem to be located in sphere.tga).. so i replaced them with better looking shields.

Picture:


Above those green rings normally there are numbers that indicate how much % of my shields are left. They are gone with replacing the "old" KM shields.

How can i bring them back withoud replacing my new shields? What do i have to edit?

Help would be very nice!

As far as i know, the shield percentages are created by a script

it's located in \scripts\Custom\QBautostart\ShieldPercentages.py

that's what shows you the shield strength. check it to see if it's there. if it is, it may be replaced. (possible)

I'm no expert here, but i do know about that.

if you need the script again, get to your KM folder that you downloaded, and get that script.

How does your Shield HUD differs from original one ??? can't find any difference ...

you should check the very first lines of the aforementioned script ;)

Will the Shield Percentages mod work with regular Quick Battle or only with QB Autostart? I noticed that the script is in a "QBautostart" folder and I don't have that on my regular installs. I do have KM as one of my installs but I still have and play a regular modded BC also.

any script in the QBAutostart folder requires QBAutostart to work...
in all honesty, i dont see any reason not to have QBAutostart on any install...

By the phrasing of the question, I get the impression that he may be confusing QBAutostart with another flavour of Quick Battle, ? la QBR.

QBA is effectively a script that makes any script in the QBAutostart folder run automatically at the start of a Quick Battle session.

I already looked at those posts and even though I'd have to say that the answers posted were generally quite good... I liked Bren's the best because of the way he worded it and how I paraphrased it/translated it in my mind.

The shield Icon has nothing to do with the texture.

Well I know I'm kinda reviving this thread, but as far as i can tell the problem was not solved, so im here to request help as well.

I've been clearing out some of the unused scripts form KM to make my install run a little more smoothly. I have been very careful as to not remove anything that i still want, however, i cannot for the life of me figure out why the shield percentages have disappeared.  :idk:
What files does the shield percentage mod use? Obviously it uses QB Autostart, but what else, because i must have accidentaly removed something that it needs.

Any help at all would be great.  :)

I took a look at this already and i cant see anything that directly relates to the shield percentages mod, unless one of the files here somehow relates to it indirectly. I tried putting the "Point Defense" script back in but that didn't help.
