How do I add glows onto a ship?

How do I add glows onto a ship?

As you can see, I made a private conversion of a yet-to-be-seen starship the Yamato Class Experimental BB.
However, the problem is that I can't figure out how to make my own glows for the ship so the windows, nacelles, impulse, etc. Can glow and look menancing.
anyone have any insight  :help:

I don't know i can help you, but this ship is amazing! I remember how bad ass it was in starfleet command!

Does it has those purple phasers?

you need to add an alpha channel to your textures for lights. (you'll get better responses from others I'm sure on explaining this)

Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Yes you need to add an alpha channel to the texture and a _glow to the texture name so the plug in knows it is a glow texture.

The problem will be if you do not have access to a modelling package though I'm sure the other will correct me if you can assign textures in nifskope.

Below is my TMP saucer top and the alpha channel

The textures on your model most likely do not have the _glow suffix at the end. If that is true, someone will have to add the alpha channel for you. Just by adding the _glow suffix will not solve the problem.

Ships from SFC seen to have the regular hull textures, and a separate texture with the blacks and whites for the glows.

I haven't seen or even thought about this ship in years.  I remember when Antivyrus was making the model using the stock OP model as a guide.  I was very happy doing the registry work on her.

NO WAY!!!!
you're F9thDiahak!?!
DUDE You and Anit are EPIC.
I believe this ship is his design. However, due to not seeing him around, I decided to keep this mod private owned, until I can ask permission from him for release. *If I can find him.

You've heard of me?  Yep, I'm Daihak, although I haven't gone by that name in a long long time.  Dawg and Meteorafallen are the only ones on these boards that remember me by that name.  As for Antivyrus, I haven't seen him around in a long long time.  Not sure where he is or how to get hold of him.  His e-mail should have been in the readme with the ship, but not sure if that e-mail is valid anymore.

Ok, I looked again to how I did the glows. Apparently the program I used to make Tga files never saves the alpha channels.
I have decided to switch to Photoshop, since it saves Alphas, AND makes a ship glow nice :D.
Expect to see the Yamato in the PotD soon.

I have used Photoshop for ALL of my textures- I would recommend it for everyone. It is a good program that is worth the money- especially with student discounts.

Wow, I didn't realize just how big the Yamato was... unless this model is not scaled correctly??

The refit connie is approx. 1000 feet long. So, calculating a rough estimate puts the Yamato at about 3200 feet give or take!!

I remember this ship from KA. Look forward to it.

I would expect her to be huge, she has 2 engineering hulls on her after all :D

You are going to be putting the phaser of doom on her right?
