Are we looking at bump maps too? Or is all that definition from geometry? What kind of poly count are we looking at here?

Sadly true bump mapping is not possible in Bridge Commander...if you're curious about bump mapping I suggest you look at DJ's Galaxy WIP from a few years ago, it's around here somewhere, as it shows both non-bump-mapped and bump-mapped Galaxies (they're beautiful too

) and the first Century 5 years ago came in at 23k polies IIRC (I think that's what Adonis said,) but DJ has said that as he improves as a modeler he can do more with less so it's quite possible that this model will come in at less than that. Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply. What about using specular maps to simulate bump mapping? Are there any limitations on shader types, like anisotropic?

I don't know about shaders, but here's pseudo bump mapping using specular maps.

looks to be a season 1 galaxy judging by the deflector..but the shape seems off..but that could be because its zoomed so close.. Can't wait either way..

Yeah, it's a new Galaxy Class. I might consider doing the Galaxy X with it. I don't really think there's anything wrong with my old one, it's just that the Galaxy Class is a barometer for me. I like to test myself against it. We'll see. I've also got an Enterprise F on the go from STO. Just gotta get those nacelles and pylons figured out. There's also a Galaxy refit I tinkered with a while back.. Don't know if it will ever make it to the game but I thought I'd show you guys anyway.

Like the rest, I would love a DJ New Orleans. Absolutely love the mesh. To have that close a shot and what you can see look so smooth.

Hopefully we see all these in game someday. Nice job on the "Whale" (as a guy in my fleet calls it) from STO. Didn't like the design at first, but after finally unlocking my Anniversary version and flying it a bit, It is a nice design. Man, it really turns slow though,

Awesome stuff as always.

EDIT:

The refit is cool, just the dish may need to have a new look. The split looks odd to me. Maybe if it was thinner, the way it is now sort of overpowering if you know what I mean. Just my opinion anyway.

And DJ, I think now that Galaxy Refit HAS to make it to BC, that is fantastic looking.

I am liking everything DJ but thing the Galaxy refit needs to be refined more. Too many additions spoiling the smoothness of her lines I think
