Delta Quadrant Pack Shield
« on: December 23, 2013, 05:47:50 PM »
Hi,

I don't really know if i am in the good place for my question but for me it's seems good so if it's wrong move the topic.
My question was very simple, i have download the Delta quadrant pack and the mod is just awesome but in the screenshot i see the equinox with a shield who look very cool.

Can anyone tell me if this kind of shield exist or if it's photoshop work and obviously tell my what mod is if the mod exist.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

I've always wondered about that but I believe it was Photoshopped or a effect that was experiment but never released.

While I dunno whose effect it is, if memory serves me, the effect is contained within an image file called sphere.tga within the BC folder.

It wasn't photoshoped, if memory serves me right, i believe it might be the shield effect from the stargate pack v3.0

First tanks for the post.

To Darkthunder :

Yep i already know that, is for that i have post here, because the delta quadrant pack doesn't have a sphere.tga file.

To Jb06 :

No it's not the stargate v3 shield, i use it for the moment and i can say it's not. Maybe if one of you know all the people of the project, he can ask for that ?

Thanks again.

Jb06 IS one of the developers of the DQ pack...he should know :P.

The shield from screenshot most likely comes from custom build BC of one of the DQP Devs or beta testers (lots of screenshots for my or Baz or I think so, Wileys mods came from beta testers which is kinda typical) some of them might be modders and some parts of their games might have unique mods that never got released (know that from my experience, had lots of slightly tweaked gfx mods that never got to public) your best bet is to ask the DQP team ;)
My post deserves the "No Shit Sherlock" name but then again it's still 1% usefull piece of info  :funny :funny

Why weren't these shield effects ever used, they are much better than the Generations shield effect that seems to get far more use on BCfiles.

I just created it by accident and by testing it. I'll try to find it again on my old HDD's and upload it somewhere.. (you guys know where?)

the screenies of those two shield effects don't quite look the one of the equinox that is pictured. Which one is it exactly? tng shield effect or the the stars and shields? or something entirely differen't?
Thanks.

The equinox one is normally the first one. Could be however that i played with the TNG shielding and converted it for a equinox screenshot.

I believe you are correct the stars and shields dl show a slight dark transparent shielding in the full radius  while where it was hit shows the actual color of the shields with full effect. Ty for the reply and it's a great shield effect too.

Thanks !

If you are a person that really wants to do some TNG battles. I really recommend the TNG shielding. Voyager or anything else, the Shields&star shielding ;)

Thanks m8 it's to bad that we can't assign multiple shield textures in game to ships or races, It would be nice if we could use multiple sphere.tga(s)

True! If you play with BSG or SW ships or you want some dominion war battles. I recommend actually a sphere.tga, where you have mini mini dot. So if you get hit, you only see an explosion and no shielding. I created this for some screenies, but never released it.
