Indeed it is!  Summer break started this Saturday and I got the modeling bug despite having not made anything for a couple of years.  Only problem was that I didn't really have any great ideas, so I looked at my old stuff and decided to remake the USS Victory.  It's much closer to TNG time now than TLE.  Call it a refit if you want.  I figured there was no reason not to post it.

The profile of the ship is mostly the same, with the biggest differences in body being the sweep of the pylons and the shape of the secondary hull.  Over all though, just more and refined details.

Hey, you are back!

The ship looks indeed way more like a TNG vessel, now. I wouldn't have guessed that it is the victory.

It looks great, especially the engineering -neck region (!*), but I liked the old victory nacelles better.

On the topic of the original, I was always fond of the name Vimy Ridge myself. Was the registry 40917 a reference to the date of the battle? 4= April, 917 = 1917?

HOLY ****! YOUR BACK!
This is either some sort of prank, or this is a miracle.

In any case, this ship looks awesome!

Kori--> Yes, the original registry was the date of the battle.  The Battle of Vimy Ridge is a moment of national significance for Canadians.

newhalo123--> Haha.  No prank, it's me.  I guess you could say I'm back.  I've got a couple months off of work and building a few ships, maybe completing some old projects is on my radar.

Considering the Great War centennial coming up, it's very appropriate.  too bad my comp derped...this'd give me a good reason to work on the USS Anzac.  mabey everybody ought to get together for some great war tribute ships.
thing is, I'm now seeing a bright red fighter craft named Richthofen (sp)

It's still here! It's wasn't a dream! I went to bed not long after and haven't been sure all day whether I dreamed this thread or not. xD

Don't worry about it, guys, I'll foul it up with some misaligned texture mapping. :P

Well, it's been a while. I think that a little misaligned texture mapping is quite alright.

The Master has returned!

Minor nitpick about the ship-- the side view looks awkward, but the rest looks great.

you must be seeing something I can't, Wiley...but it's been a while since I eyeballed a model for errors.  what's the previous version look like?

you must be seeing something I can't, Wiley...

If it's the same thing that stuck out to me, then it's the way that the pylons and are suddenly bolt upright against the flow of the rest of the ship. They're a little abrupt.

Not entirely sold on the nacelles.
