install from CD onto Windows 10

im having problems, i am on a Windows 10 Laptop, i insert the Bridge Commander CD and tried to install, the i browse to the setup.exe and run it, i choose install and nothing happens once the click the install button except that window closes, any work arounds for getting stbc installed on windows10 64bit?

Tried using compatibility mode on the installer?

turn off any anti virus, my disc doesn't like any of that running upon install

Try transferring the contents of the cd drive to your disk drive and try running setup.exe from there.

As I've found from doing a fresh install, I just had to run the installer and leave my PC alone for a while, eventually the install dialogue just pops up, not sure whats actually going on, but Windows 10's InstallShield Program and its inbuilt security checking seems to heavily delay the actual start of the setup, but its IS still running in the process list of Task Manager.
