ST:BC Testing Camera...
« on: April 30, 2007, 12:46:18 AM »
I've been busy trying out ideas with ST:BC.
I have 2 videos here about the same idea.  Some good close-ups of some ships as they fly-by.

Let me know what you think.

Nice work, you've really done well with these video clips!!. I think a bit of Trek Music might be better for future videos though!?, but cool nonetheless!!.  8)

(Btw, where can I find the software for this testing camera?, is it available on BCFiles or still a WIP?)
  :?

 Very impressive I really think you do great work here, perfect angles, great close ups, and  your launching sequence was perfect a great recreation of a great scene. Some people thought that dragged on too long in the film but I loved it! Showing off the best ship in all her glory :D
 Which dry dock is that btw? Mine doesnt look that good... mind my computer isnt as good as yours either by the looks of it. lol Keep it up.

For your info.

P4 2.8 Ghz 533mhz FSB (used to have 2.5 Ghz)
1024 MM DDR 400 running at 333 Mhz (Used to use 512 MB)
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB 8x running at 4x

Mobo was originally rated to run cpu's at 400 Mhz FSB and 266 Mhz DDR.

I think the drydock came with the Sol Multi-System because I just used whatever drydock was there at Earth.  Either that, it's stock.

I also watched the movie while I was making that video.  Just to make sure I can get the correct angles and camera movement.

Yeh you really nailed that well. :D Gives a great sense of nostalgia seeing that personaly it wasnt my favourite ST film, ST: II was the best and ST: IV but still you gotta love the launching of a fully redesigned enterprise!

Yup, Star Trek 2 is my favorite movie (I like the part where the 2 fed ships are getting hammered with no shields up).  TMP had the longest launching sequence and ST 2, most of it's launching sequence was re-used footage of the first movie.

What launching sequence in ST:VIII are you referring to?

Maybe it's doable.  Gonna watch it again and check out the angles.  I need more practice anyway.

No, the Ent-B launch.  I think I might be able to do it, like in Generations.  It is a short sequence with the ship and it's definately harder to reproduce.  It's more of a challenge to myself.

How do I get the close ups without the camera eating the ship?

How is it done?

you blew the ship.
try the following:

Code: [Select]
import MissionLib
MissionLib.GetPlayer().SetHidden(1)

now the next step would be making a tweak to FedAttack.py so they don't move away when you get closer  :lol:

 My camera angles are good but no where near the quality of you or Dante, but still they serve my purposes for the moment, I'll need to be more comfortable editing scripts before I try getting it the way suggested by Nighthawk.
