if that's the JLS version, I've given limey a "corrected" version of the E-Hull's graphic.

hmmm...  i think it is simply a matter of manually firing at one ship, click on "take secondary target" then choose second target and start firing on that one (repeat steps for 3rd target, 4th, etc)...  you should be then firing at your new target and your previous target(s)...
if thats not working, please feel free to make a new thread about it and perhaps whatever is going wrong can be fixed...  :)
or, you can use FTech; USS Frontier made a script that will allow a ship to fire on 2, 3, 4, etc etc ships at once at all times via the plugin...
(and i think the tech can be turned on and off ingame)

i think it is simply a matter of manually firing at one ship

Shouldn't even be that. Just target the intended ship(s) and press the magic button. Then go to F9 and you can fire in any of the cinematic views. And you get the best angles in F5. The only other problem remaining is having the other ship(s) fire back at you. If you're not quick enough you might accidentally blow yourself up. :P
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

hold on a sec...  i have a problem with that 2nd pic...
ive never seen a galaxy class fire like that; 2 phasers firing from the same point in a saucer array like that hitting two different points...
that pic wasnt slightly altered? :P  i could be wrong, but i dont think ive ever seen such a thing before...
btw - nice borg texture, wheres that from?
