Yeh thats why i like it  :) I also like the klingon ships, but alot of the systems in BC are too dark so you can't see the details much.

Edit mode is your friend!

No, it helps position ships, and you can edit the lighting.
just type "Edit()" into the console and you can move the ships, camera, lights, planets, backgrounds, stars, and create paths.

Meh...I wish I had a GREAT graphics card so I could get some good shots in!

Tally you make this look WAY too easy :P

you dont need that great a card to get great results, I assume 90% of us are using gfx card that runs 128/256mb and 1gb of ram or more?  so first thing I'd do is go to CCC or nvidia control panel and set AA and AF to full and not let applications decide(makes more of an impact/improvement over games settings) as long as your not using ultra res textures you can get all but the basic of models to look pretty good if not great( also helps to learn to use the edit mode and position ships that way) to help if your game stutters in play. if I told you that  say about a 1/4 of the pics I've put here are off a laptop I use with 256mb gfx and 1 gb ram would you be able to tell me which ones they are?  :)

If your playing a proper game of BC and struggle...keep your setting to what works for you, but if your grabbing screenshots...dont be scared to ramp it up

256 ATI Radeon 9250 and settings at maximum without letting the app decide for itself.

And I still have jaggies :P.

Then again I think it's more of a matter I'm running quickly out of room on my hard drive :S I MIGHT need to get a new one soon...(or better yet an external and use THAT for BC)

However i haven't quite mastered the edit function yet!

may I ask what options ya have selected in BC? :P there is one that even though you have maxed settings lets jaggies still show up.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

*cough*notT&L*cough*

EDIT:  And I make sure I turn T&L off every time I turn on BC....

I'm telling you it's either my hard drive, or my outdated processor....or both

I never really noticed any difference between T&L and non-T&L, HDD ? I doubt it could be responsible for  GFX quality, stuttering while loading new models, textures, effects etc. and long load times would fit more for slow drives.

^ This...

I have an 80 gig HDD on this computer :P Plan on upgrading to 160 (for now) until I can afford a 500 GB.

Anyways before this is considered a hijack :P

Here's 2, I really like the 2nd.
Tally: I think i got the lighting down in the 2nd Pic. Now the only issue I have is with the big Triangles that come up when you make lights, and not being able to fire phasers or make shield effects in edit mode.

EDIT
MOAR PICS!
They arn't as good though...

the big triangles your on about...click on toggle placements again and they disappear, hit tilde(`?)press your down direction key or type Edit() again and that puts u back in game and use your camera keys as you wish and you can also fire weapons again
