That's it I am pouting! Tomorrow's theme is the Nova class. I will try to include weapons fire. Also suggestions are welcome!  :)

How about a pic the moment voyager destroyed the exinox' nacelle in Warp?

Very nice Mc, I like the one with the fly through, STA style. Quick question Mc how does your comp handle Voyager from the DQP, mine lags like crazy.

Great stuff everyone!

Curious, what are your system specs Kill and Mckinney? My system runs fine with the DQP.

Its only Voyager that kills the performance.

My specs:

Raedon 3110 Graphics chipset offering 1.9GB Dual core
AMD Vision 1.9GHZ 4GB RAM
Win7 (64 bit)

What might be killing your performance is the lightmap's on Voyager.... Shrink them down 50% and you should be fine... its the tga's ending in _LM

Everything worked smoothly on my laptop so didn't think I had to alter any sizes.

I know how to open it in photoshop but then what? haha

Here's how to reduce the size of the .tga's

1. Open in Photoshop
2. Go to Image -> Image Size
3. In the resulting window, look at the top field where you see the width & height dimensions
4. Enter in each of those fields one half the size of each .tga eg. 2048 goes to 1024
5. Make sure that the "Constrain Proportions" box that is in the bottom section of the window is checked. This will size the .tga appropriately in both width & height at the same time.
6. Hit "OK"
7. Save the file
8. Done!

I have an older version of Photoshop so if you have a newer version, the image size window may look a bit different but the gist of how to do it will still apply.

Cheers Moed, Kill already told me in a PM and I have resized all the textures instead of just the lightmaps and now Voyager is running like a dream :)

Excellent!

In that case, the little tutorial I posted can now be used by anyone who wants to optimize their texture sizes.
