What's going on with the nose of that NX class? Apart from that, looks great. One of my favourite ships.

The NX-04 has a bigger deflector dish and housing compared to the rest of them, I'll do a front view of the ship later so you can see.

I've always loved the NX design

Me too.

It drives me crazy when some people call it the "Akira-prise". Even though the design of the NX Class was obviously inspired by the Akira (which I also love), it is IMO significantly different enough to merit its own distinctiveness.

And besides, in the Trek universe, the NX came before the Akira so that means that the Akira design was inspired by the NX Class  :D

I'll just post the following:
http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/articles/enterprise_design_comment.htm

I'm not saying I dislike the NX Class (quite the contrary). But unlike TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY, the "main ship" was certainly not original.

Speaking of NX-Class, here are a couple of examples of what could've been the NX-01 (if it wasn't "copied" from the Akira):

Both designs from the Ex Astris article. I wouldn't mind seeing either of them being made at some point :)

Wasn't until I read and article did I fully understand what a labour of love the design was for Doug Drexler and how much of the original 1701 he poured into her. He had the hull colour lighter and had thinner nacelle pylons but was told to change them by producers who were stuck in 24th Century Trek

Brace for impact!!

I think one of the reasons it turned out the way it did was because the producers were going to use an Akira. They had to be talked into letting a new ship be designed. The ship was perfect for what we could realistically expect of 22nd Century technology.

Also; WAHOO!! Voyagers gonna crash! :D

Make treknebula3 completely black by using the filling in tool

Then go to 'file', scroll down to 'place' and select your image.

It should then appear on top of the black treknebula.

Adjust it so it fills a third of the square but leaves you with black above and below the image.

Then go to 'layer' and down to 'flatten'.

And then save.

That's exactly it.

Whatever background pics you use... be it from Deviantart or some other source, try to get the highest possible res you can.

Also, using Unsharp Mask in Photoshop on the image helps alleviate some of the blurriness.
