Hi all,  I have been enjoying the fabulous work demonstrated here and thanks for using some of my ships.  If you would indulge me some shameless self promotion, here is my new TOS Strike Cruiser:

Hey Killa,  The starbase is actually a SFC model I converted and re-textured for my BC use.  However, I have been thinking about making my own model using the SFC one as a refrence.

By the way, is anyone interested in making some of yhese awesome screenshots with the Starfleet Museum (Romulan War Era) models?

I'd like too but I don't have the time, though I did do a 3d render with 3 Powhatan class cruisers. Also it'd be great if you did your own version of the Starbase, BC can have more detail.  ;)

Sorry Killa, I think you misunderstood me.  I have lots of the SFM models done, please look here:

http://bc-central.net/forums/index.php/topic,7710.0.html

and I am already working on the starbase.

Great shot Mckinney.

I've always wondered why a shuttle bay wasn't added to the Challenger Class. There's definitely room for one in the aft section.

Nice one, Mc.

Just used the nebula pack from moed an killallewoks but the background is still too blury. Any idea how to improve the quality?

Great stuff guys!

Here's another ship that I wish some more attention to detail was considered - the Freedom class... umm, where are the impulse engines??

As for improving the sharpness of the nebula in mine/kills pack, unfortunately, that's about as good as you're going to get. If you read the Readme in the pack, you'll notice that I decided to make the images at 1024x1024. I could have made them at 2048x2048 but the file size of the images would have been 4 times larger than they are at 1024 and a lot of us out there have systems where 2048 size images would have dramatically slowed down game play. So, I "balanced" the size to make them of good quality, but not the best that they could be.

A rule of thumb for sizing images is that you will retain image quality if you decide to size down, e.g. 1024 to 512, but if if you want to size up (1024 to 2048) the image will become badly pixelated. Unfortunately, I never started with 2048 images so in order to have them at that res, I would have to recreate the whole process from scratch. I am considering doing just that but currently, real life is taking up too much of my time.

The only way to slightly improve on the sharpness is to open the images in Photoshop or some other image editing app and run a sharpness filter on them. The problem with that technique is that it only improves them marginally and if too much sharpness is implemented they start to look grainy.

Thanks for your tips moed. My question wasn't as a request in any way.  ;)
