What size textures are you using, Tally?   Just curious as want to experiment with higher rez's for planets in SPMod to see how far can go before fps/ game grinds to a halt  :D.  At moment highest are 2048, but I've been able to run 4096.   Also, if anyone has any cool new high-res planet textures, please PM me.   Currently using sov001's HQ set (I think that was the last new one released, other than Killa/Moeds nebula pack).

Can you please post link to where I can find these high def planets you are currently using, invluding high def nebulas and etc...
I tried searching for them at bcfiles but it didn't go well, thanks.

Dude.  You either have just inherited a large sum of money or you have a pretty darn good paying job... 2 7990's!!  That's a ridiculous amount of horsepower.  Hope you don't have any micro-stuttering.

The gaming rig came with one, holiday special around Christmas time at cyberpowerpc, then I had some saved cash and bought another, wanted to see how far the games could go. So far so good.
Was an investment. Don't plan to upgrade the hardware for a while.

I was trying to find some good backgrounds at 4096 but its a rarity. Anyways, don't wanna stray to far off topic. Thx again guys for the link.

One is enough Mckinney... that's real nice... except...

I know you used a nice Earth background but, I would have added some Photoshopped created stars or something.  Pictures of Earth from space - with space actually showing - rarely show stars because of the extreme contrast difference of Earth compared to the space background however, this is Star Trek... added stars for lack of a better word makes things look "better"  :D

Better Mckinney.  Gives the pics more depth IMO.

However, the stars you created appear too much like pinpoints.  What I would try is a good, sharp screenshot of of an actual BC starfield, then open it up in Photoshop.  At that point I would layer on top of the starfield your crisp Earth image - position it just the way you like and such.  Then flatten the image when you're satisfied.  Now you can bring it into BC as a background and have the BC stars already set up nicely and finally -- screenshot away!

BTW, perfect lighting on the Argus for this pic!

That shuttle is looking great, the weathering is pretty good.

Why a BC Starfield? Go straight to the source; NASA. Hell, take a camera up there and get your own shots. :p

True.  A NASA starfield would obviously be great but... there are some pretty nice BC starfields that can be downloaded... and you wouldn't have to do any possible touch up on them as you might with a NASA pic.

Wouldn't it truly be something if we could go up there as easy as getting on an airplane and take a pic ourselves!  Hopefully, that day will come... for our kids maybe  :)
