ok, so, max 7 shouldn't be a problem.
import the model into 3d max, and apply a Unwrap UVW modifier
select the model, and go to Modifiers -> UV coordinates -> Unwrap UVW.
select the model again and go to the "modify" tab: right panel, top tabs, second tab from the left.
click on the UVW Mapping (should have a "+" in the left) and click on "Edit" (big button below the frame you're currently in).
that will take you to a small window, click the triangle you want to move and it should appear on that window marked on green.
move it to wherever you have the glove.
I'd post some pics to help you but I don't have Max here right now.
anyways, you can always access the Help on Max and search "UVW Mapping". what better help than that made by who wrote the program?
I don't think you can use nifskope to edit that kind of stuff.
that's why I posted "NOT to use...."
I've been trying some updates from the guys at NifTools, and each one was a headache, specially when it came to edition. exporting and converting is not that hard, tho. just keep your eyes open.
