New to BG

Hey, I purchased this game years ago but got distracted and forgot about it, along with several other games, but now I want to play it finally.  I'm really only interested in single player, but would you guys recommend the Kobayashi Maru as well as NanoFX 2.0 Beta?

Kobyashi Maru contains NanoFXv2Beta, with needed fixes (but it's still not 100% bug free).
