The SGC Set is still standing I believe, its still dressed as Icarus base though.

yeah, last I heard, both the SGC and Atlantis are still standing, pending more movies, of course the SGC is remaining redressed for the time being, because the next movie planned is an Atlantis one, of course the movies are on hold until the economy picks back up.

There is an SG1 one planned too...

RDA apparently said that he's going to get 'fitter' for it...

Now all we need is for the show to get it's chance, and not get axed.  :mad

I love the concept of SGU, but realistically, I don't see it lasting more than 2 seasons.

With the only mission being 'survival', plus the lack of a constant 'bad guy', its not looking like it will last very long, which is a damn shame.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

It all depends on the hipsters who can be bothered to turn on the TV. If it makes them roll over, it will last, if it doesn't, then...

Doctor Who, Star Trek Voyager.

Both based solely upon survival (though Doctor Who to a lesser extent) and don't have constant bad guys (although they do have recurring ones)

Voyager was nice because every season there were new enemys, not the same ones with just "new" evil plans

I think the Pod leaving Destiny goes to show they might have a enemy to look forward too. Obviously the repicators could be come back, because who says they destoyed? They seem to be in every galaxy so why not?. I'm hoping for the no humanoid aliens, heck non humans would be nice for a change

like prime said, it depends on what the viewers react to.  it also depends on what the executives say and do.  their may also be executive meddling.  I'm surprised anything got done in this budget crunch.

and, sorry to say, CG is still expensive as crap.  don't count on non rubber forehead aliens.

Actually, in an interview with one of the cast members, they said that the only aliens in series 1 are CG.

Just saw what would be last week's episode for you guys, and I can't believe I didn't see Destiny being solar-powered. So, after much forehead slapping and facepalming, it was an awesome episode. What's the deal with the next one? The ad hinted at it being some kind of airborn virus?

I'm thinking seeming as the episodes name is 'water'  it might have something to do with the 'water' creature from episode 3.

As far as I know, its about a dangerous mission to replenish their water supplies on an ice planet.
Also, that "water" creature was actually a sand creature :P

The Preview for "Water" here in Canada, showed the 'sand swirl' from Air 3.

Also the EV Suits they're going to use are the same suits the Asgard used in Atlantis, only with different helmets Gate world had HD Screencaps of one of the SGU trailers that showed them.

Just started here, we get it an hour after Sci-Fi. But we get Sanctuary an hour before.

Water was an awesome episode, for sure. and that glare between Young and Rush... I sense a Street Fighter re-enactment.

EDIT: Necrons made Destiny, not Alterans.

One gripe I have with the episode. They said the planet was at -47 degrees, yet Young's UMP worked fine!

Just watched it. The overall episode was good. Not as Great as 'Light' but still way up there.

Anyone else feel that 'SGT. Spencer' is basically going to turn out to be the 'Col. Maybourne' of SGU?

The CGI effects of the ice planet and off-ship gate were not that great to be honest.

Can't wait for 2014 to start.

After watching the latest episode, I can think of a half-dozen or so people that I think should get "offed" due to "unusual circumstances". Sgt. Spencer being a prime candidate for this, and a few of the civilians.

Not a huge fan of the whole "Lt. Scott is always in jeopardy" plot they have going, and that he's basically making out with anyone of the opposite gender. Atleast on 2 occasions he's neglected his duties (turned off radio), while screwing around with a woman (unknown chick on Icarus Planet, Chloe in this episode).

Rush and Young need to have a genuine "heart to heart" and try and work out their differences. Last week they seemed to have gotten better along, then Young suspected Rush knew the ship would survive all along, and in this episode they are back to the pilot episode behaviour.
