Yes adonis was right, since the release of the CE Venture I've been busy re-modding Erazorens Nebula Class. I've managed to stay in contact with Erazoren eve since I beta tested his original USS Phoenix over at BCU a couple of years back. He has kindly given me permission to re-mod his original starship.

So to start... I've made a few changes to the model, most notably I've replaced the nacelles to get rid of those awful P81 ones, I've also added a more rounded deflector and a new bridge module. The weapons module has also been raised a little to give it more definition and the fwd torpedo launchers a better firing arc.

The first pic is merely a test to show you guys the model alterations, It is my intention to "completely" retexture all the ship. Don't get me wrong the SNS textures are absolutly great but I think they've been used and re-used to many times. Plus it's a test for myself to actually see if I can completely texture a ship

As things stand I've completed the first round of aztecing the upper saucer, I've worked out the Galaxy and Nebula Classes have two or three layers of aztecing plus smaller hull lines to give added definition.

It's a start... but there's a long way to go lol.
 :)

I was going to say sex toy. Drat.  I think I'll feature this on BCfiles.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

cool.  great job on the aztecing.  It's nice to see you grow in your skills, going from small changes, to re-textures, to creating new textures from scratch.  If there is one type of modder that's missing in this community, it's texturers.  If you become known as a texturer, then I guarantee you will always have a project if you want one.

BC has always had lots of modelers, but not guys like you.  A cookie to you sir!

apparently he can model a bit too if he fixed the deflector and nacelles. There's value in refitting old models too. Especialy when people like Adonis are so slow :P

Thanks everyone for the positive comments.  :D

I've added a second layer of aztecing to the upper saucer, I've gone for a light grey as the base texture, Duck Egg blue fro the dark aztecs and a turquoise grey for the lighter aztecing. With the basic look now complete, I'll begin adding finer detail to the upper hull.

Also this is a call to everyone.... I want to make this Nebula Class as canon as possible, I'm on the lookout for any resource material, pictures, reference photos of the studio model. I've got those from Ex Astris Scientia but you can never have enough photos. (Nebula.....hope you can here this lol!!)

One question Glenn, are you doing this with the Studio Model in mind?  Or the CGI Model?

If you're going for the Studio Model look you would need Erazoran's old Deflector back, as that was canon to the show.  If it's the CGI Varient, then it is spot on the way you have it :).

Looking good, I can't wait to see it finished. There are a couple of pics of the studio model at
http://www.starshipmodeler.com/trek/ds9tech.htm
don't know if you already have them.

Thanks genty, I didn't have those pics. I'm sure they'll be a great help!!.

A good question!!

I was going to do two alternate textures one that looks like the studio model and the other CGI but keep them both mapped to the rounded deflector.

I may still do that, but also I think I'm gonna include the original .nif file complete with the square deflector for you canon trekkies out there.

Anyways, another mini update. This time I've finished adding lines to the aztec patterns on the saucer, I'm pleased with the results, next on to the bridge module.
