Moonraker Constutution retexture
« on: January 03, 2008, 01:11:56 PM »
This is probably for low-end computers, but the textures are 1024x1024.  Moonraker's model is really good, and there are little or no modeling errors.  Dr_McCoy's textures are awesome, so I used them for this retexture.  Enjoy. :D

I got to admit that I forget how good moonrakers Connie model looks... and with the new textures it does bring out the beauty in it.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Don't forget the low powered deflector, to give the effect of being in drydock. :D

Nice, I like it, but (yeah I know I hate when someone starts to say 'but'  :P j/k) maybe you should check some really accurate sec hull, neck and pylons hull plating patterns, cuz my sucks and are uncanon ( I can't believe I'm saying that :D)
It's just my small input, just incase you want a lot better connie than my :D

it's very nice.   good model, nice textures.  A little on the pastel'ish' side for my taste, but very nice none the less.

I added the additional hull plating, and I also changed the windows.

Sometimes diverting away from canon is a good thing.  I think you're retextures are great.

Now, as for this ship, I think the model itself is better than Khaliban's model.  Don't get me wrong, Khaliban's model is great too.  Just like this model better.

For the deflector, you should use FTech, so when you go to warp, the deflector turns blue, out of warp, white/yellow.

I second that.

The only time I saw the Enterprise A with a yellowish deflector dish was when she was in dry dock in TMP, and shortly afterwords as she was leaving the Sol System. So IMO, it wouldn't really be cannon to see the Refit Constitution with the deflector being yellow all the time, save for warp. Because we see the Constitution with a blue deflector at both high and low impulse throughout the entire series, do we not? I'm not going to discredit this entirely though, as it is an interesting idea, but personally, the only time I see the deflector being at low power is in drydock, when the ship would depend on the station's deflector grid, anyways. Again, just IMO. Personal preference and all that.

Nevertheless, this ship is looking rather hot. I've been seeing a lot of connies and connie related starships recently, and it's nice to see the old girl out and about again. I look forward to seeing what you cook up later on. Keep up the good work.

-Aeries.

If you re-read kirk2164's post, he specifically meant that the deflector should change color when going to warp, and again exiting.
