I cannot beleive the standard of work you guys are pushing out, It is incrediable and the pace too. The quality of each and every ship is just great, ure paying attention to detail. And now with the mention of galaxy charts 2.0, and all these planets that ure making, it really is gonna be like a trip to the delta quad. Ive always loved voyager and im glad to se there are modders out there that do too :)

It already is. GC v2 was essentially started specifically for the DQP after all :P It was also beta tested by the same people as the DQP.

I know that this request would be a monumental effort but I wish that each and every individual mod created for this pack could also be made into separate installs so we can pick and choose what we wanted to put in our BC installs.

Not everyone wants to download a huge pack but I'm sure many if not all of us would love to have the opportunity to download some of the mods in this pack of our own choosing.

I have to add though that the work and quality done here is outstanding.

To expand on what limey said;

Yup :P

Well it's probably we announce stage 3. At the beginning i mentioned that there would be 3 stages.... first stage - ships, second stage - new star systems, and the third is new travel methods :)

Since the beginning we've been working with Frontier to develop a number of new ways to travel.

We have the Graviton Subspace Catapult which is a faster way to travel than normal warp speed. You approach the Catapult, select the destination, and voila you're there abit faster than warp speed :P The images below was taken about a month back before the station itself was not fully textured. But you will get my drift from the image. After you select the destination, something fancy happens which you all will have to wait for, and then you go through the "effect" etc.

Next up it Transwarp :P Obivously this is for the Transwarp hub ;) Similar to the catapult, you approach one of the large conduits, and the rest I just explained above :P We'll eventually show you pics of a ship in transwarp, thats just being sorted out ;)

The last type of travel is a quantum singularity, which allows you to go into the realm of 8472. The new JLS 8472 system is only accessible via this option. If you have enough power in the main battery, if I remember correctly, it enables you to access the system, so like shuttle crafts cannot access it:P And again it has great visual effects when entering it ;)

All this couldn't have been done with the phenomenal work of Frontier, so thanks every much Frontier :D

Thanks

Ooh, nifty and pretty. :)

quick, slightly dorky question.  what are you guys using for system creation?  I wanna try making one myself.

The system plugin only adds the necessary RDF features for the system, such as wealth, importance, etc.

Actually Kirk a more "precise" way to describe the system plugins is that they're a way to register a system in BC with much more information about it (like location in galaxy, wealth, importance, description, etc).

However it's just that: a way to register.
You still need to make systems the old fashioned way, and have them in your install.
Tho the way Jb is making these systems for BC isn't exactly "old fashioned", because for one, he's using planet SHIPs and not regular BC planets. :P

And about the travelling methods: yea lol
The graviton catapult and quantum singularity are infact mostly done. You can even find a few pics or lines of text mentioned them in GCs screenshots at BCFiles and at its full readme.

The catapult I'm really looking forward to. :)

If you  are having planet ships, could you not HP them to have shuttle framework, and adapt that to land ships? Or did I miss this somewhere?

We could, but it would look totally stupid. There would be no atmospheric flight, and the surface would be blurred.

unless you made a special map for it. I specifically have the Vaaduar planet in mind.
In the Vaaduar system you clould add a realistically sized planet (HUGE) with a low density nebula around it to simulate the thick atmosphere
Ships could land on it (if such a thing is possible) and there could even be ground structures that could launch Vaaduar fighters.
You could have a battle in the atmosphere like in that episode

sorry if it seems like i am spewing demands, i'm just throwing this idea out there
