looks like theres a slight error in the specular mapping at these points. doesnt seem like much, but worth checking for a simple mistake

I think there were windows in that area.  You are probably seeing the hull indent, where the set of windows are.

Indeed ;)

Right to get back on track ive done most of the bottom damage wise, all i have to do is the bottom of the nacelles, but that can only be done once the mesh alterations have been done.

So here's the pics ;)

Lookin very nice but the damage to the naccelles and pylons is the same on each side. Is there anyway to fix that?

Having a smoking section in a restaurant is kinda like having a peeing section in a pool...

i suspect that is how the mesh was mapped, fixing it would entail serious changes to the mapping, which would could effect the entire ships textures

If we turn our backs on our principals, we stop being human. (Janesway to Ransom in "Equinox, part 1) (one of the most memoable quotes in Star Trek)

Good work on the Nova class. I look forward to recreates Janeways hunt from "Equinox, part 2"

Just a quick update for the prommie. Ive managed to do some work on the bottom of her, which i now think is all done. The only parts i still need to do are the separated sections which are hidden, after that ill get limey to fix some smoothing errors then its off to be Hp'ed properly.

something doesnt seem right in the first screenshot where the ventral section and the saucer overlap, just fore of the main deflector it seems like the texture suddenly gets darker

That would be the "alcove" area in front of the deflector. The Sovereign has a similar area. It is not a problem with texture or mesh I believe. This retexture looks great I might add.

not what i was referring to. i know, all i seem to be good at is pointing out obnoxious errors that no one will care about ingame.... notice how the hull suddenly gets a darker shade here, perhaps its a lighting issue
