Excalibur bridge texture issues
« on: April 14, 2008, 10:38:53 AM »
Okay, I recently installed KM 1.0, which came with the new version of the Excalibur bridge.  Being a new one, on a new computer no less, I didn't expect this problem to come up that happened with the old version on my old computer.  Weird, huh?  The railings and the seat backs are all white.  :?: Any suggestions?

Missing textures, I suppose all your graphics settings are set to max?
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

Just did, I didn't see anything with relevance to my problem, I haven't messed with any of the bridge scripts, and I didn't have a previous Excalibur bridge.  This is the first Excalibur bridge I've had on this new laptop.  Strangely enough, I had similar troubles with the OLD Excalibur bridge on my OLD laptop with those textures disappearing.

Have you tried running it in NifSkope or the like?

I brought it up in Model Property Editor, and the railings were still white.

Have you tried installing it on a different harddrive and/or different computer?

Could you verify the screenshot (meaning, selecting all the files in data\Models\Sets\Excalibur\High and taking a screenshot of the properties)?

goto data/models/sets and delete the excalibur bridge.

Then goto

http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Excalibur_Bridge;85196

Download, and install.

Fixed it for me * KM 1.0 User*

Nothing.  I even installed the files into another folder and checked the Nif in MPE, still the same thing.

Yes we had this issue on one machine during beta testing but there was no reason that I could find for it and despite me reapplying the material and re exporting the model it didnt make any difference - I even remade the texture from scratch but that made no difference.

The main problem is that the issue only shows on a very small majority of machines. So the only advice I can really offer is to make sure you have the latest drivers and that you have all your setting set up correctly.

Sorry i cant be more help then that

@Mark: What is the size of the texture in question?

@Shadomknight1: What is your video card (the name + model number)?

small, same as many many other tiled textures on all bridges.

So it isn't in the magical above 2048 size.

And doubtly also not a "not power of 2 square" texture (notice the double denial).
