Ok folks, enough spamming! I've removed all the junk as requested, lets keep it that way.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

DJ, if I had half your creative talent, I'd be god, so I've got no clue what to say you'd be... A Q?

Something about your design style, it's very... Can designs be contagious? Recently I've been getting into the TMP designs again, and that.. Well.. Just amazing. The nacelles are definately something I'd want to steal and keep for myself, and the jet-engine style secondary hull is great, it really works with the rest of the flow of the ship. I'll say this much, the illusion of speed is right there, as effective as just painting it red.

Hey DJ, about that deflector, I've been wondering- have you considered adding a cowling, or part of a cowling over it?

I looked at it again, and still think it fits the rest of the ship... very streamlined, very smooth. It gives the impression of "gliding" through space.

have you compared the Mithra and Serenity to DJ's ships? :P

----

Dj, again, I love this connie. It's great. Fantastic. The only thing I would change is the one controversial component so far: the deflector. The smoothness this deflector you have certainly adds a streamlined flair to your new connie, though I'm not sure it entirely fits the design. perhaps I, along with others, am simply used to seeing the connie with a more profound 'front end', so to speak. Nevertheless, this is wonderful work.

we'll see. i don't quite know yet.  like i said, the design was just to pass some time, so I'm pretty much open to anything with it.  Wiley, since you'll be texturing it, do you have any suggestions?

DJ surprises us again!

now, to have a correct up-to-date lineage, someone has to reshape the excelsior.
it would be Gabe's connie, this one, a new excelsior, the Dawnstar, your Galaxy, the Sovvy and the Century

live long and prosper, BC!

Infact, I have. I'm looking forward to racing the Mithra through Borg weapons fire! I've actually been meaning to plan my own smallish craft, and every time I see your banner I'm reminded...

DJ, how much more hassle would it be to appease both requests? By this I mean, of course, one with maybe a variant that has a larger deflector, and just make up some frell about.. I dunno. Some technobabble. And then haven the Alert/superiority version with the sleek, superior beauty of the streamlined variant?  8)  Just trying to help.

that would definitely make most people happy.
i still prefer a larger deflector tho', maybe make
the bottom of the deflector larger so the bottom
front doesn't curve up as much?

difficult isnt really the word for it, but it sounds like to much of a hassle. including a second deflector would entail separate mapping and textures to fit. might as well be a whole different ship project.

Not really. Just adjust the current deflector area, remap/texture that section, and save the new model. The map/texture part is where the real work would come in, though, and perhaps... yeah, maybe it would be a slight pain... Idk.

But since this project is really just a random little thing DJ put together, and is already going out to Wiley for textures, I suggest we all sit back, chill, and simply wait instead of hassling DJ with a zillion ideas. ;)

the mesh has been sent to adonis as is.  he will map it and then send to wiley for textures.  Wiley's gonna start a new thread when he's got some work to show, so I'm going to lock this thread down as it's served it's purpose.
