I love Armada II and the Elite Force games, but I'm anxious to check out STO.

I'm partial to the SFC series (after BC ofcourse). I prefer any Star Trek game that involves a major part of exploration and diplomacy, as well as combat. Games such as Legacy, and the Elite Force series focus primarily on combat (as does the upcoming STO).

Bridge Commander naturally.. it's the second flightsim-like game that has kept me occupied this long, first one being CFS3..

Best Trek games? Well in my opinion, BC takes the cake. However, Armada II, and Birth of the Federation are on my top lists. BC provides the freedom, the video possibilities, mod capabilities. With BC, the possibilities are endless. Armada II provides me amusement. I love to spam Defiants, BoPs, or Warbirds. Nothing more frightening than a HUGE mass of small ships or LARGE, FAT Warbirds coming towards you. Birth of the Federation tests decision, management skills, and endurance. Allowing you to expand your empire in many ways, shapes, or forms.

Though Starfleet Academy, Elite Force II, and, believe this or not, Star Trek Tactical Simulator for the Atari2600 are favorites aswell.

I'd say Elite Force I.
With the cool RPG mod!

Or Armada I..

Hmm tough decisions, spent hours with Armada.

No Armada II?  Seriously, it's like the best strategy game EVAR if you play the Fleet Ops mod!  Hooray for Fleet Ops! :D

I have to agree with FarShot. Armada II should be in the list. People are still making mods for it. I haven't played in a while but with the Fleet Ops mod it is awesome. Armada II's new graphics make it almost a new game.

Birth of the Federation got Armada before Armada came out lol. Though Armada with FO mod is cool, I still love BotF.

Yeah, Fleet Ops is pretty Cool, but IMO it still can't beat Armada 1!

Well, the purpose for FleetOps is to basically change Armada II into Armada I.  What was the last version you played?  The latest is 3.0.7, which is golden.  I must say veteran ships add a whole slew of awesomeness to the game. :)

Actually the latest version is 3.1.0! I haven't had a chance to play it yet though.

To be honest, it's nothing like Armada 1 or 2 any more.

Heh imagine Trek game from Total War series, instead of world map we would have galaxy map with known regions, economics and fleet ops from BotF, ship movement like in Total War series and space/land combat would be a mix of Empire at War / Empire Total War style mmmh... that would be sweeeet, not yet another cookie-trek-game with lots of colorsfull GFX and no depth to the game but true Trek game with epic battles and harsh economics :D oh well... dream on... I bet next game will be Legacy/D-A-C styled dumb shoot'em all arcade crap...

just played BotF on my netbook (the only thing on which it runs without crashes) and it still kicks butt :O why they don't make such games set in Star Trek universe anymore ??? are they really that affraid the game would be too hard for kids ???
