I wonder, have you tried setting it to something other than high?

But I would really like to know your system specifications as well.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

 i have a dell dimension desktop E310 series, with windows xp, and a 2gig hardrive.

My suggestion for now, try turning everything low.

That probably won't have any effect on the BSG ships as they have no high/med/low folders.

I fear you may need to give up on this mod, or ask the original author to supply a med and low model (and textures) and properly add lodding.
