Wiley, just a suggestion, why not model the phase cannons in a similar way you did with the Kelvin.
Though the phase cannons are similar to the Kelvin's, they are much smaller and I do not want to raise the polycount any higher.

That would also be a a lot of work.
Not only that, but little reference other than what's in the episode. For the Intrepid, here's the link-
http://st-bilder.de/html/nx1.html

It's shown on the bottom of the last page of the NX ship section.

Wow thats a cool lookin ship.

You know what would go great with a new NX-01? A new NX-01 shuttlepod.

As always Wiley, top-notch work. I hope it doesn't get forgotton like your Koenerprise model.

Can't wait for 2014 to start.

I was never much of an Akiraprise fan, but the detail there is sumptuous. I am literally losing track of everything you are doing! Did you do an Akira already?

Looking at your JJprise v.1, your technique and polish have come on in leaps and bounds even since then! And that's only... what? A month!?

Wiley, you are well on your way to BC's top modeller. DJ, I'd be getting scared right about now...

I'd like to second the Koernerprise appeal.

Bren, I believe his current WIP list is something like this(this is from memory, I'm weird like that, correct me if I'm wrong Wiley):
JJ-Prise v3
ID4 Troop Transport
ID4 City Destroyer
Constitution refit
Miranda
Excelsior
Koerner's Connie
Kaden's Legacy class
The Narada, aka. RomulaBorg pinecone
Steampunk Enterprise
Trade Federation Droid Control Ship
Constellation class
An Excalibur-like ship
Mushroom-class Spacedock
A Proto-Ambassador
And the NX-01.
All of which are in various states of completeness.

Wow.  That's a lot of stuff...wonder if Wiley ever sleeps.  And no Akira, but don't give him ideas.  :P
And Bren is right Wiley, looking back through the thread, just at the JJ-Prise, your modelling skills have become top-notch.

You're forgetting his Yesterday's Enterprise retexture of the Generations Galaxy Bridge.

And you never know, when he makes his next release, he may spring an MVAM Kelvin on us.

Not that I'm trying to give him ideas.

The JJ Enterprise v3 is having great damage issues due to the fact of how I built it and the polycount.  It's probably going to not have visible damage when played ingame.  This goes the same with the ID4 ships as well.  It looks like I found the limits to polycount vs. damage ability for BC.  I'll now have to tweak the .py scripts for the ships.

i'm pretty sure you can go really high with poly count and have the mesh damage just fine as long as its unified.

i've said it before, and i'll say it again... a unified mesh is the most important thing in BC model building. ;)

Besides boolean/probooleaning the mesh together, which has its limits, I have to delete the unneeded verticies and weld verticies together.  Am I right? :)

Ya. I've had some limited success with the cut tool in recent escapades. It might require some rebuilding, but if it damages, it should hopefully be worth it :)

I really didn't want to rebuild the whole ship again, and texture it.  The next best thing would be to tweak the ship's py file so that structural damage is off, but hull burning still exists.

Yikes...why did they have to design a ship that's such a pain in the butt? :(

It's not the designer's fault, it's mainly my fault (lack of clean modeling skills).  It will look good for beauty screenshots though.

i feel your pain.  in the end, it's always best to just build it unified as you go.

Wow your new enterprise looks awesome!  =)

But can I make a few suggestions if you decide to do a version 4 (maybe after seeing the film for better reference)?

I think the nacelles should be a wee bit slenderer in height (though that may be an illusion from the small size of the font you used for the registry) and the ?fins? definitely need to be a bit shorter. There?s a full image of the ship on a t-shirt that shows what I mean (if you haven?t already seen it), along with the QM models. I think the ?vents? at the back of the nacelles are a bit squarer at the bottom too

The shuttle bay should be a little bit wider judging by those quantum mechanix models on the official site and I?m pretty sure that overhanging ?lip? under the deflector is flat at the front rather than round.

Other than those small points, great work!
(Though personally I prefer the darkened bussards with visible ?blades?, nothing a quick texture swap can?t fix lol!)

Your Narada looks brilliant too, hope you get it working!

The Narada has been put  on hold, until I can get some of my other projects out of the way first.

For the JJ Enterprise, I probably used a smaller font for the nacelles, because the bigger font looks just plain weird.  The JJ Enterprise has been mapped so that it is easier for people to retexture, and texture swap- a definite improvement over some of my past ships.
