Star Trek Quad-nacelle fanboy Extraordinaire

StarFleet Research and Development Crash Test Dummie/Test pilot

"Beyond the rim of the star-light
My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me."

While I was making the hardpoints for the Kelvin fleet, I "whipped up" a possible version of a JJ-verse Excelsior and it's currently 8k polys. :)

Dude that's awesome!!

seems a bit smaller than the prime universe excel....
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

That's why I made the shuttlebay doors look smaller, when in fact they could be several decks high. I still have plenty of areas to add additional small "greeblies."

VERY nice I love the smooth, sleek design. I saw another really nice one on SFM that's fantastic. I'll link you in a PM or here if you want, just give me the word.

In any case, this is bloody COOL!

I swear you're getting your ideas from baz...:P I mean, he started doing one! And now you've just blown him out of the water with this one!! :P

But anyway, 'tis nice!

I saw that one. It looked a little too much like the JJ Enterprise tech. The Enterprise and Excelsior are 2 seperate ships with their own unique design. I get the impression that each new ship is upgraded and a new design element is introduced. Maybe I should model in a shuttlebay like a mini spacedock.......... :). IF the JJEnterprise is "supposed" around the size of the Ent-E, the Excelsior would be like a small starbase with lots of detail. I'll now have to make a deck scaling chart to see how large the JJ Excelsior would be before I add any more detail.

After the JJ Enterprise, all other ships are free game, my versions are not the correct versions. There are loads of possibilities. .....Baz does have good ideas.......sorry......*runs and hides*

Not to denigrate your amazing work on these models, but I just don't like the Reliant roll bar.  The one in the movie is clearly different, but since there really aren't any good views of these ships it's the best that can be done for now.

That's a very minor quibble, though.  Otherwise I absolutely love all of these models and I can't wait to fight with them.

Just because previous ships were bigger doesn't mean the new ones should be. The Sovereign is a perfect example.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

OMG.  That is a beautiful JJ Excelsior!
And large too. Keeping in mind with the JJ-verse upscaling of ships, compared to the size comparison of the Enterprise and Excelsior in the "Prime-canon universe", the Excelsior would be almost twice as long as the Galaxy class with around 60 decks. Now to work on the Kelvin fleet. If anyone want to talk about JJ-verse ship scaling, talk about it in another thread. .......I probably just opened up a floodgate of arguments...... :(
